What it is
A way for money to move between mobile-money networks without the customer having to leave one and join another. Includes a wallet, escrow and buy-now-pay-later.
Many Somalis carry two or three mobile-money wallets because each one only works in certain places. JaallePay makes them behave like one. Settlement runs as a two-phase commit — reserve, debit, credit, commit — so money is never lost if something fails mid-transfer.
What it does
- A wallet to hold, send and withdraw money
- Escrow: funds held until both sides confirm
- Buy now, pay later — 2 to 12 months
- Ayuuto — the traditional Somali savings circle, digitised
- Fee-based, not interest-based — structured to be riba-free
Who it serves
JAALLE customers, businesses taking payment, and the diaspora sending money home.
Where it stands
In buildThe wallet, escrow and settlement split are live inside the JAALLE apps. The direct connections to the mobile-money networks are still running in test mode and are not yet open to the public.
